Owain Wyn Evans launches new home design podcast series

Owain Wyn Evans is launching a new weekly podcast exploring celebrity homes and interior design choices.

Known to audiences for his BBC Radio Two weekday Early Breakfast Show and presenting on BBC One’s Homes Under the Hammer, Owain now turns his attention to the homes and personal spaces of well known figures, using conversation to explore the stories behind interior choices.

Produced by Cardiff based audio production company Bengo Media, the series brings together humour, storytelling and personal insight as guests open up about the objects and design decisions that define their homes.

The first run features Tom Allen discussing living like a grand old lady and his view on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Reverend Kate Bottley on Princess Diana memorabilia, her Jesus Arms bar and four toilets, Nicki Chapman on fish in the cloakroom, Angellica Bell on a living room she calls a Private Members Club and CBBC, and Tom Price on cul de sacs and pianos as shelves.

“Everybody loves a sneaky peek,” says Owain, describing the concept behind the podcast, “and what better way to nose around the homes of some famous faces than through their own perspectives.

“We will be opening doors, rattling drawers, and discussing whether the colour on the hallway wall is butter sunset or just plain yellow.”

Launching with Tom Allen and Reverend Kate Bottley episodes on 3 June, episodes of Love What You’ve Done With The Place will be released weekly across Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
