PAVE and A+E bring six TV franchises to podcasts

Six established A+E Global Media franchises are being adapted into podcasts through a new partnership with PAVE Studios.

The agreement will see PAVE Studios create a slate of original audio series based on well known unscripted television brands, with launches planned across major podcast platforms later this year.

PAVE’s history focused brand Rewind will produce audio versions of History’s Greatest Mysteries, Modern Marvels, The UnBelievable, Celebrity Ghost Stories and The UnXplained.

The company’s true crime division, Crime House, will also launch a weekly podcast adaptation of The First 48.

PAVE says this is the first audio adaptation of the franchise, which has become A+E’s longest running and most watched true crime series.

The First 48 podcast will draw from a library of more than 450 TV episodes. It will revisit homicide investigations through the critical first 48 hours after a murder, when detectives work to secure leads and build cases.

The series is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of this year, with new episodes released every Thursday.

History’s Greatest Mysteries will explore unresolved events including the Roswell UFO crash, the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa and the secrets surrounding the Titanic.

Modern Marvels will focus on engineering, technology, manufacturing and architecture, examining subjects ranging from the Hoover Dam to the Supermarine Spitfire.

The UnBelievable will feature unusual events and inventions from history, while Celebrity Ghost Stories will adapt accounts of paranormal experiences shared by well known figures.

The UnXplained will investigate unexplained phenomena, including alien encounters, unusual rituals and enduring mysteries.

Max Cutler, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PAVE Studios, said: “A+E has built some of the most iconic franchises in true crime and history, and this partnership lets us bring that proven IP into Crime House and Rewind.

“For longtime fans, it’s a new way into the stories they love; for a new generation, it’s the start of something bigger.”
