Never Have I Ever with Claire Byrne has been launched by Northern Ireland’s Newstalk, featuring personal conversations as the broadcaster explores experiences she has never tried.
The podcast sees Claire turn the questions she has spent her broadcasting career asking onto herself, probing personal experiences she has not yet tried.
Each week she selects one item from her private never done list, ranging from long desired activities to things she has quietly avoided or delayed.
She then sits down with a guest who has lived that experience for an open conversation about what it means to take part.
Across ten episodes, the series looks at life skills, personal milestones, cultural experiences, first times and long held assumptions, asking what happens when people challenge their own limits.
Claire says: “Never Have I Ever is a completely new departure for me. I find myself facing my fears, exploring experiences, careers and lifestyles that are completely new to me and along the way, I get to meet some fascinating people with incredible stories to tell.
“I want our listeners to come on the journey with me and help me to pick one of those things that I have never done, and I hope they will help me feel the fear and do it anyway.”
Eric Moylan, Managing Editor of Newstalk adds: “Never Have I Ever showcases Claire, but as you have never heard her before.
“The setting allows for in depth chats that reveal previously unknown sides of both Claire and her guests. There are plenty of laughs, revealing stories, and moments of reflection. We’re really excited to see this drop into listeners feeds and know it will make a big connection with our audience.”
The first episode features Claire taking on writing a book, joined by Katriona O’Sullivan who shares insights on storytelling and becoming a published author.
The series launches on the GoLoud app, the GoLoud website and all major podcast platforms, with new episodes released weekly every Wednesday.
