Jamie East shares raw cancer podcast diary

Jamie East is set to offer listeners an unfiltered audio diary of his first eleven days following a cancer diagnosis, in a new podcast series titled Bad Blood: The Diary Of A Cancer.

The series, produced by DMG’s Seriously Popular network, combines real-life conversations from Jamie’s medical appointments with his reflections, creating a direct and personal listening experience.

In June 2025, Jamie’s life changed dramatically after a routine blood test led to a diagnosis of chronic myeloid leukaemia.

The podcast documents his immediate response to the news, the physical impact of treatment, and the challenge of sharing the diagnosis with family and friends.

Jamie, known for co-hosting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and founding the celebrity gossip site Holy Moly, uses his experience in storytelling to turn the microphone on himself.

He describes the project as a “brutally honest spoken journal about the realities of his cancer journey.”

Bad Blood: The Diary Of A Cancer gives a transparent look at what it means to become a patient, with Jamie’s dry humour present throughout.

The first two episodes, The Phonecall and The Biopsy, will be released this Friday, 3 July, covering the initial symptoms, the moment of diagnosis, and the start of treatment.

Episodes three and four, The Reset and The Future, will follow on Friday 10 July. These episodes see Jamie adjusting to a new normal and addressing the dangers of online medical misinformation, referencing a recent episode of Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO.

Jamie says: “There are tons of these podcasts by some incredible people with stories far more horrific than mine but if a perplexed, foul-mouthed audio diary from someone who once interviewed Jedward in a carpark is your thing, you’re in the right place.”

Through sharing his experience, Jamie hopes to connect with others facing a diagnosis, encourage listeners to trust their instincts over online influencers, and highlight the importance of maintaining close relationships during illness.
