A new true crime podcast from ABC Audio and “20/20” will revisit the murder of Angie Dodge and the decades long search to find her killer.
The Snare, hosted by ABC News correspondent Maggie Rulli documents the case of 18-year-old Angie Dodge.
The limited series explores the attempt to get justice following her murder and the efforts to identify the person responsible.
It revisits the 1996 rape and murder of Angie, who was killed in her apartment in Idaho Falls. ABC Audio says investigators recovered DNA evidence from the crime scene that pointed to an unidentified suspect.
Despite that evidence, authorities built their case against Chris Tapp and secured a conviction. The conviction later unravelled while the real killer remained at large.
The series includes extended audio from several original interrogation tapes used during the investigation, including recordings featuring Tapp. Through those materials, listeners will hear more of the case and the decisions that shaped the investigation.
The trailer for The Snare is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and other major podcast platforms ahead of the series launch on Tuesday 16 June.
