STV Radio Football Show podcast moves to television

The STV Radio Football Show podcast will now be adapted for TV, with a new 30-minute sport entertainment programme.

Called The STV Radio Football Takeover, the show is set to air every Friday night on STV, STV Player and YouTube.

Podcast episodes will continue to be released each Monday.

Presenters Ewen Cameron, Ronnie Charters and Callum Bell will bring their discussions and debates about Scottish football to a wider audience, previewing the weekend’s matches and reflecting on the most notable moments from the previous week.

The TV show will feature the same dynamic as the podcast, with Ewen, Ronnie and Callum known for their differing opinions and lively exchanges.

Each episode will include special guests, a ‘Question of the Week’ from the public, and a weekly ‘Top Six’ list on topics such as manager meltdowns or dramatic dives.

Ewen said: “As if I don’t spend enough time with those two eejits already, they’ve only gone and given us a primetime show on STV.

“Joking aside, the nation is crying out for a fun football entertainment show that can bring everyone together ahead of a weekend of fixtures. Friday nights on STV just got rowdier!”

Ronnie commented: “Now that we’re on the telly, I’d love to say we’re going to be much more high-brow and refined but let’s be honest, leopards can’t change their spots…”

Callum added: “If you’d told me when I was a kid that I’d be hosting a primetime STV entertainment show, focused on football, with one of my best pals (and Ewen Cameron), I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to get started and welcome the STV audience into our podcast gang.”

The move to television follows the success of the podcast, which launched in October 2025, was nominated at the Scottish Podcast Awards, and has achieved over 24 million social video views.

The STV Radio Football Takeover is produced by STV News and will premiere at 7pm on Friday 31 July, while the podcast remains available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and STV Player.
