Noiser’s free audiobook adaptations have passed 50 million annual listens as its catalogue expands across podcast platforms.
The milestone follows the independent podcast producer’s move into serialised literary adaptations, bringing classic works to listeners through episodic audio releases.
Since launching in 2020, Noiser has developed productions including Sherlock Holmes Short Stories, Pride and Prejudice and Charles Dickens’ Ghost Stories.
The adaptations feature performances from actors including Hugh Bonneville, Dame Julie Andrews and Sir David Suchet, alongside original music and cinematic sound design.
The company presents the works as episodic listening experiences through major podcast platforms, allowing audiences to discover classic literature within the apps they already use.
Pascal Hughes, CEO of Noiser, said: “Seeing listeners embrace our adaptations of Sherlock Holmes and Jane Austen alongside shows like Short History Of… demonstrates there’s a real appetite for beautifully crafted storytelling, whatever the format.”
Noiser said its wider catalogue has also grown, with UK listens increasing by 39% over the past year. Its shows include Short History Of, Real Dictators and Real Survival Stories, which continue to attract listeners each month.
Pascal Hughes added: “For a business that initially found much of its audience overseas, it’s rewarding to see more people discovering Noiser at home.”
The company has also recently launched Founding Fathers: An American Dream, an eight part history series narrated by Clarke Peters. The production explores the people, ideas and conflicts connected to the creation of the United States through a mix of expert insight, dramatic storytelling and sound design.
