Audible’s original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ BLEAK HOUSE launches
The latest Audible Original, BLEAK HOUSE, is the final instalment of Audible’s Dickens trilogy, executive produced by Sam Mendes.
This atmospheric adaptation immerses listeners in London shrouded in fog, where the death of a man above a junkshop sets off a chain of events that weaves through the city’s social strata—from the grand country estates to the squalor of the slums.
At the heart of this tangled web are two extraordinary women: Lady Dedlock, burdened by a mysterious past, and Esther Summerson, whose life is about to take a dramatic turn.
Though they appear to have nothing in common, their fates are tightly bound together by the city’s secrets, crimes, and a never-ending court case with no resolution in sight.
With a cast led by Thandiwe Newton and Ambika Mod, supported by Mackenzie Crook and Mark Strong, BLEAK HOUSE brings to life Dickens’s dark and twisting tale of greed, power, and redemption in Victorian London.
The original score by Dan Gillespie-Sells captures the eerie ambiance of one of Dickens’s greatest novels.
BLEAK HOUSE is available exclusively on Audible from today, 26 September.
