Award-winning fiction podcast Blum to launch in the UK

The multi-award-winning Spanish podcast Blum has been adapted into English and is set to launch in the UK.

Produced by El Extraordinario, the audio drama has dominated the Spanish podcast charts and picked up an Ondas Award in April.

The story is about history student Clara Torres who disappears while working on her thesis about Ursula Blum, an avant-garde painter from the 20th century.

Five years later, journalist Emma Clark decides to travel to Switzerland to continue Clara’s investigation and make a podcast about what she discovers about the mystery surrounding both women.

Set in the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland, the podcast attempts to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of the art history student and discover the mystery of Ursula Blum who holds the key to this captivating story.

Blum is similar to an investigative podcast by setting the story in a real historical, social, and geographical context that encourages listeners to conduct their own research.

Manuel Bartual and Carmen Pacheco, the writers of the story, travelled to the nine boutique cities of Switzerland with the support of Switzerland Tourism to help turn their experience into a thriller in the form of a podcast.

Episodes of Blum will be available every Wednesday from 28 June on all major podcast platforms.
