Season five of the cult podcast Brian & Roger will launch next Wednesday, 29 September on Auddy.
Praised by the Daily Telegraph as “the best British comedy happening right now…Britain’s funniest podcast”, it was awarded Silver in ‘Best Comedy Podcast’ category at 2020 British Podcast Awards thanks to its unusual format and comedy names at the forefront: Harry Peacock (Toast of London) and Dan Skinner (Angelos Epithemiou).
Brian and Roger’s toxic relationship first blossomed at a support group for recently divorced men which Roger, genuinely grieving the loss of his marriage, attended in good faith; Brian did so to avoid paying alimony.
Rooted in friendship and loyalty (or at least Roger’s unfailing loyalty to Brian), in each episode listeners are immersed in a new tale, where largely improvised storylines play out entirely over voicemails.
To Brian and Roger, nothing is off limits; whether it’s Brian supporting Roger in his desire to become a mime, or Roger’s participation in another of Brian’s outlandish get rich quick schemes, each episode often results in hilariously tragic consequences…for Roger.
Also on the horizon for Brian & Roger is a two month stint at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory theatre. Opening in the brand new, customised smaller studio space, The Mixing Room, is the world première of Brian & Roger – A Highly Offensive Play inspired by the hit podcast, written and performed by Harry Peacock and Dan Skinner. Artistic Director of the Menier David Babani directs the production which runs from 22 October – 18 December.
Seasons one to four are available on Auddy and most podcast platforms, with season five available from 29 September.
