CHANEL launches third season of its art and culture podcast

Season three of the acclaimed arts and culture podcast, CHANEL Connects has been launched.

The eight-part series, produced by Sony Music Entertainment’s Global Podcast Division, features guests devoted to the profound questions and conversations that shape culture today and define its tomorrow.

CHANEL’s Global Head of Arts and Culture Yana Peel hosts the series where two guests are paired to interrogate themes such as the intersection of technology and imagination, fact and fiction in autobiography, the power of collectives, cinematic inspiration, and more.

Contributors this season include actor and producer Penélope Cruz, architect Frida Escobedo, entrepreneur Jon Gray, designer Yinka Ilori, composer Kelsey Lu, and digital artist Sarah Meyohas.

For the first time, some of the episodes will be visualised – in signature CHANEL look and feel – by film director Emily Okuda Overhoff.

Overhoff worked closely with the CHANEL team to balance the visual and the audio to offer the audience a different podcasting experience.

Host Yana Peel commented: “CHANEL Connects, the Arts & Culture podcast, features visionary artists and cultural leaders who offer rare insight into the ideas that move us forward.

“Season three includes Academy Award-winning actor Penélope Cruz and director Carla Simón, who meet for the very first time to discuss everything from cinema to motherhood. Listen in as we convene the world’s most creative minds for conversations across the arts”.

Annabel Wilcken, Head of Branded Podcasts at Sony Music Entertainment, added: “CHANEL has a long-standing heritage playing a role in ‘what happens next’ and this podcast is no exception.

“Now in its third season, CHANEL Connects has become an important voice in the Arts and Culture podcast space and is an exemplar of how a luxury and very visual brand can adapt itself in audio, whilst retaining the premium standards that consumers and audiences have come to expect.

“This season’s fully visualised episodes also allow audiences to watch what happens when the world’s most creative minds ‘connect’.”

CHANEL Connects will be released weekly from today, 12 July on chanel.com and all major podcast platforms.
