Crossed Wires The Podcast Festival expands line-up for four-day return

Crossed Wires has added more live podcast shows as it expands to four days in July.

The Sheffield festival, which drew 25,000 people last year, will now run from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 July, opening with a new live event from Greg James and Alice Levine.

Greg and Alice will host A Night of Mistakes! on the opening night, promising surprise guests and a loosely planned show created just 24 hours earlier.

The pair are among the founders of Crossed Wires and will be joined by friends for what is billed as an unpredictable start to the weekend.

On Friday 3 July, JaackMaate’s Happy Hour moves from screen to stage at Sheffield City Hall, with JaackMaate and Stevie White presenting a live edition of their podcast.

Saturday 4 July sees Elis James and John Robins return to the festival following their appearance in 2024. Later that evening, Dave Masterman will host the official after party, All My Friends, in the Ballroom.

Sunday 5 July will focus on true crime and horror. Audio Always will present a True Crime Takeover featuring British Murders, Murder Mile and The True Crime Enthusiast under one ticket.

The Magnus Archives will also perform live, with creators Jonathan Sims and Alexander J Newall bringing their fiction podcast to the City Hall stage.

The newly announced shows join an existing line-up including Dig It with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball, How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, The Blindboy Podcast, Sara and Cariad’s Weirdos Bookclub, Get A Grip with Vicky Pattison and Angela Scanlon, Bold Politics with Zack Polanski and If I Speak with Ash Sarkar and Moya Lothian McLean.

BBC Sounds Fringe will return with an additional BBC Radio 4 takeover stage, with more acts due to be announced next month.

Audible will sponsor the main stage at City Hall this year. General sale tickets are now on sale from today.
