Simon Brew, host of the Film Stories podcast, is bringing his live show to cinemas across the UK across this year.
The first event will take place at the Rich Mix cinema in Shoreditch, London on Thursday 19 March, before the tour continues to Manchester, Glasgow, Truro and other cities.
Film Stories Live has been running in Birmingham since 2019, offering in-person film conversations that explore upcoming filmmakers, big mainstream releases, and the smaller stories behind modern cinema.
The live show is praised for being funny, entertaining and deeply nerdy, while championing independent filmmakers and highlighting their work.
This year’s tour is deliberately taking place in indie cinemas to support the sector and connect audiences with the creators behind smaller films.
Simon Brew said: “I’m passionate about taking the love of movies right around the country. Each show is a little bit different, hopefully very funny, and utterly grounded in a nerdy love of cinema.
“That, and of shining a light on the amazing filmmakers around the UK who don’t get enough attention on what they’re up to. Oh, and there’s the, er, ‘famous’ money can buy prizes too…”
The Film Stories podcast has been running since 2018, covering over 500 episodes that tell the stories behind movies. Tickets and the full tour schedule are available on the Film Stories website.
