Flashback forever chooses Acast as podcast partner

Flashback forever, the podcast with nearly 1.2 million listens a month, has chosen Acast as podcast partner to strengthen its existing format.

This means the podcast now has access to Acast’s entire offering – from hosting and distribution to marketing towards listeners, and much more.

In a short time the podcast, with its three hosts, has completely organically grown into a great success – with almost 23 million listens since the start in January 2020.

It has continued to grow this year, and has climbed up to fifth place as one of Sweden’s largest commercial podcasts, according to Poddindex. Last week, the show also won the title of Humour Podcast of the Year at the Childhood Cancer Gala – The Swedish Humour Awards 2021.

Emma Knyckare, from Flashback forever, said: “At first we mostly saw the podcast as a fun project and we had not really thought about growth or financing. But as the podcast grew, it became clear that people wanted us to continue – and also have the right circumstances to continue to prioritize the episodes and develop the format, such as arranging our upcoming live show.”

For the winter, the trio plan a grand podcast tour with more than 50 performances across Sweden. Acast’s goal is to help the podcast reach new audiences and to broaden its existing listener base.
