Comedian Gianmarco Soresi’s long-running podcast The Downside, co-hosted by Russell Daniels, has moved to comedy podcast network, Headgum.
The Downside features stand-up comedian and lifelong cynic Gianmarco interviewing guests about the downsides of their lives, from childhood struggles to career mishaps and daily frustrations.
Past guests include Busy Philipps, Maria Bamford, Ilana Glazer, Dan Soder, Matteo Lane, Caleb Hearon, and Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Each episode sees Gianmarco and Russell complaining about their own week before encouraging their guest to join in.
The popular segment “This Has Gotta Stop” lets guests choose something in society they want to end immediately, while the show finishes with “Count Your Blessing,” where everyone shares something they’re thankful for as a palate cleanser.
Gianmarco Soresi joked about the move saying: “I’m so jazzed to bring our listeners the one thing they’ve always complained our podcast is missing: ad reads!”
Co-host Russell Daniels added: “I’m very excited to be joining the Headgum family even though my name is still not in the title.”
The Downside is described as a show where complaining is encouraged, negativity celebrated, and silver linings debunked.
