Imriel Morgan wins DBACE award for Content is Queen platform

Imriel Morgan has been named one of the winners of this year’s Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Entrepreneurs for her work with Content is Queen.

The awards, known as DBACE, celebrate creative changemakers who drive social impact through enterprise.

Imriel’s platform, Content is Queen, connects diverse audio creators with brands and commissioners through a transparent global marketplace. It helps brands discover creators beyond their existing networks and allows talent to apply without needing prior industry connections.

Imriel was awarded £10,000 at the ceremony last night, which took place at Deutsche Bank in London and was hosted by broadcaster Brenda Emmanus OBE.

Content is Queen became a BBC Supplier in 2024 and has hosted the International Women’s Podcast Festival for the past five years, as well as landing an ongoing partnership with Audible for its flagship Micro-Grant for Podcasters Programme.

The DBACE funding and MeWe360 tailored business support will allow Content is Queen to onboard their first cohort of 50 creators and develop pilot brand campaigns that set the tone for a creator-first way of working in audio advertising.

Speaking after her win, Imriel said: “It feels extremely validating to win the DBACE Awards. I remember looking at the applications each year and not feeling like it was for me.

“This year I took a chance on it and was grateful to be longlisted. To win means absolutely everything and is the rocket fuel I need to pursue my business fully.”

Other winners included Black Girl Knit Club, Secure Storytelling Network, Eloquent Dance Company, and Bealies Adaptive Wear. Each of the five winners will share a collective prize fund of £60,000 alongside £100,000 of tailored business support and leadership development from MeWe360 mentors and consultants.

This year DBACE received over 500 applications. The awards programme, in partnership with MeWe360, aims to ensure equal access to funding and opportunities for talented founders from underrepresented groups across the creative sector.

Karen Abbott from Deutsche Bank said this year’s winners have demonstrated “remarkable growth and delivered meaningful societal impact”, while Louise Nkosi from MeWe360 said each winner represents “the kind of innovation and impact our communities urgently need.”
