Iona Bielby launches Stargazer season two with rising stars

Music journalist, content curator, DJ and presenter Iona Bielby has launched the second season of her YouTube interview series Stargazer.

The new season features a line-up of up-and-coming musicians, including Nell Mescal, Gao The Arsonist, Genevieve Stokes, SOFY and Finn Foxell.

Each episode sees Iona laid down in a nostalgic homemade-style blanket fort with her guest, gazing up at a ceiling of stars while discussing music, identity, emotion and more in long-form conversations.

Originally launched to offer a calmer, more considered alternative to fast-paced, social-media-style interviews, Stargazer gives space to rising artists to express themselves honestly and thoughtfully.

“I started a show that champions artists I consider underrated, whilst making sure the interview felt more like talking to a friend at a sleepover than a formal interview show,” says Iona.

Inspired visually by the works of Yoshitomo Nara, Patrick Hulse, Karla Black, and Es Devlin, topics often stretch far beyond music, including mental health, personal growth, and the surreal experience of early fame.

Iona’s commitment to the project is all-encompassing. “When I’m not interviewing, I’m editing the interview. If I’m not editing, I’m searching for someone new to interview,” she explains.

Her immersive approach has helped Stargazer evolve into a multi-platform brand, with recent ventures including Stargazer IRL live events, a Foundation FM residency, backstage spin-off interviews titled Shooting Stars, and now a full-blown comic book expansion.

The Stargazer comic book universe, launching later this month, adds a narrative and fantasy layer to the project. Featuring characters, maps and lore tied to the themes of each season, it signals Iona’s ambition to stretch her storytelling beyond the screen.

In previous episodes, Iona has welcomed guests like BIIG PIIG, Kojaque, Willow Kayne and Good Neighbours, while building collaborations with brands and festivals including Pull & Bear, All Points East, and AWAL x The Great Escape.

Season two is now available to watch on YouTube.
