Jamila Brown launches podcast exploring everyday ethical dilemmas

A new podcast has been launched to help listeners question how their lifestyle choices affect the wider world.

Ethically Questionable, hosted by Jamila Brown, looks at the tension between enjoying modern life and making more responsible decisions.

The weekly series explores topics ranging from fashion and food to finance and relationships, focusing on the impact of everyday habits.

Jamila Brown brings experience from her previous role as Head of Sustainability and Social Impact at Soho House, alongside her work as founder of Light Work.

Her background includes advising brands and organisations on how to turn sustainability goals into practical action, with clients such as Apple, L’Occitane en Provence and Polestar.

Each Tuesday, the podcast features conversations with guests from across culture, media and activism. These include futurist Amelia Kallman, author and podcaster Candice Brathwaite, journalist Olivia Petter, horticultural creator PlantKween and presenter Brenda Edwards.

The discussions are built around questions many listeners may recognise but rarely voice openly. Topics include concerns about ethical shopping, the environmental impact of everyday purchases, and how personal values influence relationships and career choices.

Guests are encouraged to share their own uncertainties and perspectives. Amelia Kallman reflects on emerging technology, saying, “I’m kind of terrified of AI”, while Candice Brathwaite raises questions about ambition and values, asking, “I want to grow my personal brand but at what cost…”.

The podcast is positioned as a space for honest and sometimes uncomfortable conversations, where no topic is considered too small or too complex. It will unpack the systems behind common lifestyle choices and offer practical ways to think differently about them.

Across the series, Jamila and her guests explore how small changes in behaviour or mindset can influence wider outcomes. The focus remains on helping listeners navigate the balance between personal enjoyment and broader responsibility.

Ethically Questionable is available to watch and listen to on major podcast platforms.
