Jools Holland and Jim Moir’s podcast returns for new series

Jools Holland and his close friend Jim Moir AKA Vic Reeves are back with a new series of their podcast.

Jools and Jim’s Joyride pays homage to all things travel, from luxury plane travel to beaten-up bangers, as guests drive back down memory lane.

The sixth series will feature a whole host of special guests invited to discuss their most memorable adventures and reminisce on the trips that influenced who they are today.

Setting off again on Wednesday 12 July, conceptual artist Jeremy Deller is the first special guest to join the pair.

The three self-proclaimed backseat drivers discuss the best audience for appreciating the true value of art, and whether electric bikes are making us lazier.

Elsewhere, Jeremy talks through the time he was charged with commemorating the Battle of the Somme, and naturally, the episode is not complete without some Depeche Mode appreciation and an attempt on the part of Jim to audio describe a sheela na gig!

The second episode sees Jools and Jim enter a punk phase as they meet poet and punk scene stalwart John Cooper Clarke. Embarking on a journey from Liverpool reaching all the way to Motown, the trio dream up imaginary noodle bars, consider the perks of affecting an American accent, and determine superior swear words.

Other guests lined-up for the new series include Tom Parker Bowles, Brian Clarke, Nicky Haslam, Ferne McCann, Miles Copeland and Manish Pandey.

Jools and Jim’s Joyride returns on Wednesday 12 July, available on all podcast platforms.
