Jools & Jim’s Joyride podcast kicks off new series with Marc Almond

Jools Holland and his close friend Jim Moir (AKA Vic Reeves) are back for a new series of their podcast.

In Jools and Jim’s Joyride, the pair invite a special guest to discuss their favourite travel tales and the trips that shaped who they are today.

They begin the new series with singer-songwriter Marc Almond as their special guest. The Soft Cell vocalist shares where to find the best fish and chips and owning cars he can’t drive.

The trio also discuss eclectic shared houses, and Marc divulges the secrets of jackdaw ownership. There’s talk of prehistoric birds, stolen leather jackets and an Anglo-American cultural exchange.

Harry and Paul and The Fast Show star, Paul Whitehouse is the guest in episode two. The actor and comedian takes Jools and Jim on a trip through East Germany and the three consider different approaches to fishing (and birdwatching).

Paul recounts salmon fishing in Russia, the most delicious apple juice he’s ever sampled, and he and Jim think back to driving together in a gold Hillman Imp!

Other guests lined up for the series include Melanie C, Vick Hope, Shaun Keaveny, Nik Hodges, Pam Hogg and Olly Smith.

Commenting on the return of the show, Jools said: “We can’t wait to get back with this new series and have assembled the greatest line-up of guests so far. We have had some real eye-opening moments, giving us a real insight into the lives of some of the most well-loved celebrities who have been kind enough to chat to Jim and I.”

Series five of Jools and Jim’s Joyride launches on Wednesday 5 October on all podcast platforms.
