London Podcast Festival returns to Kings Place for tenth anniversary

The London Podcast Festival is returning to Kings Place this year, celebrating a decade of championing creativity, connection, and innovation in podcasting.

Running from 4โ€“14 September, the festival will feature a wide range of live in-hall performances and online shows from some of the worldโ€™s most popular podcasters.

Since its launch in 2016 as Europeโ€™s first major podcast festival, the event has welcomed more than sixty-eight thousand visitors and hosted over seven hundred and fifty podcasts, from hits like My Dad Wrote A Porno to favourites such as Three Bean Salad, Tommyโ€™s Brownload and Jameela Jamil.

Kings Placeโ€™s Head of Artistic Planning Rebecca Millican, who curates the festival, said: โ€œTen years ago, we set out to make Kings Place the home of live podcasting. A decade later, weโ€™re proud to still be at the centre of this vibrant community.

โ€œPodcasting has grown into a cultural force and the London Podcast Festival is where fans can gather to celebrate, discover, and connect.

โ€œFor this 10th anniversary edition, we want to make it the most special year of the London Podcast Festival yet, and we canโ€™t wait to welcome audiences both old and new.โ€

This yearโ€™s festival will once again occupy all of Kings Placeโ€™s versatile spaces, including the main halls, Podcast Lounge and canal-side terrace, while live-streamed shows will be available globally via the KPlayer platform.

The first wave of shows includes No Such Thing As A Fish, performing back-to-back on 5 and 6 September; Wooden Overcoats celebrating its own tenth anniversary with a special live audio drama day on 7 September; and Jameela Jamilโ€™s new podcast Wrong Turns on 14 September.

No Such Thing As A Fish said: โ€œWe couldnโ€™t be happier to be back in the London Podcast Festival’s tenth year.

โ€œTen years is how long it takes to grow truffles from nothing, how long it takes to qualify in making artificial sushi, and how long it once took a translator to successfully translate two words of an Agatha Christie book into Icelandic.

โ€œThe organisers could have done any of these things with their time โ€“ and instead theyโ€™ve just made a brilliant podcast festival.โ€

For the first time, the festival has partnered with History Hit to host live shows from its popular podcasts including Betwixt The Sheets, The Ancients, After Dark and Dan Snowโ€™s History Hit.

Tickets for the first wave of shows go on sale today, starting at ยฃ11, with further events to be announced soon.
