Manchester-based podcaster community announces first in-person meetup in nearly two years

MIC’s Podcast Club, a community for podcasters, is hosting its first in-person event since February 2020 in November.

The community, which boasts over 640 members hosts monthly meetups for people who make podcasts.  MIC’s Podcast Club provides a place for podcasters and audio producers to meet and learn from each other.

The meetup in Manchester’s Northern Quarter also marks the Club’s 3rd birthday. The Podcast Club community, made up of a huge range of podcasters, including hobbyists and BBC producers was founded in 2018 by podcaster producer and Pods Up North co-founder Vic Elizabeth Turnbull.

To date, they have hosted 30 online and in-person meetups and welcomed along special podcast guests including BBC Sounds Commissioner Louise Kattenhorn, podcast legend Olly Mann and the award-winning podcasts Brown Girls Do It Too and Obsessed with…  Through being a part of the community, Podcast Club members have launched podcasts, secured sponsorship, booked guests, topped the charts and even found paid work!

Founder Vic is excited to meet the Podcast Club community in person, she says: “I started MIC because podcasting advice can be varied, confusing and there’s a ton out there. I wanted to create a space for podcasters to come together, have a drink and pick-up podcasting advice and tips from each other.

“Also, podcasting can be a lonely job sometimes. Whilst our online meetups have been brilliant, we can’t wait to get together in-person again and celebrate 3 years of The Club. We’re also looking forward to meeting some new podcaster faces too!”

The meetup is free to attend, but places are limited. Join MIC’s Podcast Club and RSVP to the event here.
