New groundbreaking comedy panel show podcast launches

A new comedy panel show podcast with exclusive representation of people with living with disabilities is being launched.

What’s Wrong With You? is the first show of its kind where every panel member and guest has a disability.

The 6-part podcast series includes 15 top names from the worlds of comedy, drama, soap and sport who just happen to be living with a disability in some way.

Hosted by comedian Peter Selwood with regular panelists Laurence Clark and Don Biswas, guests across the series include Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston, her husband, actor & comedian Toby Hadoke, Eaten by Lions film star and comic Jack Carroll and multi gold winning Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Produced by Made in Manchester, the series will be available on its Distinct Nostalgia and Distinct Comedy platforms from Bank Holiday Monday evening.

Producer Kurt Brookes says: “Making the series and working with Pete, Don, Laurence, and all our amazing guests, was an absolute pleasure.

“We’d been trying to get it off the ground for years, but no-one would touch it until we got funding through the Audio Content Fund, who really liked the premise of everyone telling their stories in a frank and, more importantly, a funny way.

“I think our priority with the series was to be as funny as possible, that way we change some attitudes via the back door; no-one likes being lectured but everyone loves to laugh.”

Executive Producer Ashley Byrne adds: “It’s a fun and funny series which hopefully breaks down some of the silly taboos that still exist around disabilities.”
