New podcast investigates murder that inspired Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie and the Dandelion Poisoner is a new podcast series hosted by Joe Nocera.

The eight-part Audible Original podcast, produced by Blanchard House, investigates a historic British murder case that helped inspire the best-selling writer, Agatha Christie.

It all starts in May 1922, where Major Herbert Armstrong has just been executed for poisoning his wife, despite maintaining his innocence. As the story becomes global news, it also grabs the attention of Agatha Christie.

Led by veteran journalist and podcaster, Joe Nocera with winning podcast producer, Poppy Damon, the series examines this strange 100-year-old case.

Using a mix of live investigation, documentary, archive material and a narrative to bring it to life, it’s a fun and compelling exploration of 1920s England when Christie created her greatest works, including Miss Marple and Poirot.

There’s also an extensive cast of guests, who also join Nocera in telling the story, including actor David Suchet, historians Lucy Worsley and Dr John Curran, critically acclaimed crime writer Val McDermid, the great grandson and granddaughter of Agatha Christie, Major Armstrong and many more.

Agatha Christie and the Dandelion Poisoner is available on Audible from today, 27 July.
