A new weekly podcast is set to take listeners back to the unforgettable decade of Britpop, Girl Power and lemon Hooch with Talk ’90s To Me.
The show is hosted by award-winning writer and 90s face about town Miranda Sawyer, who wrote for The Face, Smash Hits and The Observer during the decade.
Each episode will look at a different aspect of 90s culture with the people who were really there, exploring everything from Oasis and Nirvana to alcopops, raves, Queer As Folk, Trainspotting and the secrets behind Diana’s revenge dress.
Miranda said: “The ’90s was a time of freedom. Music, film, fashion and going out were all revolutionised by creative outsiders. Youth culture became for everyone.
“We delve into all the mad behaviour and the wild stories, but also the amazing characters and incredible innovation that utterly changed how we all live and what we want to do with ourselves.
“The ’90s might seem like a last hurrah but it was a decade that created the world of today.”
As a writer immersed in the decade’s party scene, Miranda interviewed icons such as The Spice Girls, Madonna, Jarvis Cocker, Ewan McGregor and Kate Moss, and her 2024 bestselling book Uncommon People: Britpop and Beyond in 20 Songs cemented her reputation as an authority on the era.
Talk ’90s To Me is produced by Podmasters and launches on 28 July with full video episodes available on Spotify alongside all major podcast platforms.
