Paul Sculfor launches moving new podcast This is Powerful
This is Powerful is a brand-new podcast hosted by British model, founder of charity Stride Foundation UK, and mindset coach, Paul Sculfor.
The podcast marks Paul’s 20th anniversary of sobriety and features candid, moving and powerful interviews with inspiring guests.
Season one kicks off on 1 August with an intimate solo episode featuring Paul, where he shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes from his life, revealing details he has kept private up until now.
Opening up to his producer about childhood trauma and the less glamorous aspects of his career as a top model in the 90s, episode one features Paul’s personal story of fame, addiction and life after drugs.
Also available on the same day, is the podcast’s first guest interview with DJ and award-winning author Fat Tony. He has been sober for over 17 years but the road to sobriety didn’t come easy.
Growing up, alcoholism played a huge part in his family, and later in life, as one of the UK’s most well-known DJs, he’s been surrounded by drinking and drugs in his work.
Opening up to Paul about pivotal moments that shaped his life – from experiencing sexual abuse as a child to alcoholism and toxic relationships – Fat Tony is now, thanks to therapy and following a recovery programme, the happiest he’s ever been.
Talking about quitting alcohol and substances Fat Tony says: “Without sobriety, I wouldn’t have anything. Everything I do, and everything I have comes from the things that I don’t do. So me not drinking, me not partaking in partying and using substances means I have an incredible life.”
Other guests lined up to be on the show include:
Jo Langley on idolising an alcoholic, maintaining sobriety and the first time she tried ecstasy.
Michael Emmett, ex-gangster from London, talking about his autobiography Sins of Fathers, the ‘hole in the soul’ and his spiritual awakening whilst sharing a prison cell with his father.
Michelle Heaton bravely sharing her incredible journey in recovery. From the fame of the band Liberty X to drinking vodka in the mornings and her massive public apology.
Addiction and trauma therapist Anita Chachellama talking about the 36 years of sobriety she has under her belt and how she has helped thousands of people recover from addiction.
Johnny Graff speaking about Lion’s Campus UK, the rehabilitation centre he co-founded and about his personal experiences with addiction and recovery.
With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, specialising in trauma, addiction and couples therapy, Andrea Taylor is in recovery herself and has an incredible story.
Yasmin shares her story about how she has survived a harrowing battle with addiction that you have to hear to believe.
Paul says: “This year I’m celebrating 20 years of sobriety and it’s an absolute honour to share the many moving and heartfelt conversations I had with dear friends and professionals over the last few months on my new podcast This Is Powerful.
“With my new show, I want to bring stories of hope and transformation, highlighting how fulfilling and purposeful life can be without drinks and drugs.”
This is Powerful with Paul Sculfor will be available from Thursday 1 August.
