This year Radiodays Europe has partnered with the British Podcast Awards and the Australian Podcast Awards to build on the success of Podcast Day Online to create a worldwide event – Podcast Day 24.
The event is taking over from the original Podcast Day, which was created by Radiodays Europe. It was held in Copenhagen, 2017 – 2018, then moved to London in 2019.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 London event became Podcast Day Online 2020, bringing together a huge range of speakers and over 700 delegates.
Podcast Day 24 will be a 24-hour event on 7 June, starting in Australia with speakers and participants from both the region, and further afield. As that leg finishes in the early evening (Australian time), London will pick up the mantle with eight hours of talks bringing together European podcast participants. As London wraps-up, the North America leg will start with a diverse range of speakers.
If you buy a ticket, you’ll be able to watch Podcast Day 24 live, but you’ll also be able to Watch Again after the event or in your time zone.
Speakers already lined up include Tolani Shoneye, Audrey Indome, and Milena Sanchez – also known as The Receipts. Happy Place star and creator, Fearne Cotton, Holly Bott, Managing Director of Entertainment at YMU Group, NPR’s Tamar Charney, the Senior Director of Collaborative Journalism and Neal Carruth, the Senior Director of On-Demand News. Knud Brix is Denmark’s number one podcaster as the host of Genstart (Restart), RedHanded & Bear Radio podcasts plus James Cator, Spotify and Hussein Kesvani, speakers from the podcasts Brainwashed, Pop Chat and Evil by Design. Along with speakers from the American market Erik Diehn and Tom Webster, Edison Research and BBC Five Live’s Dan Maudsely, the producer of British Podcast Awards gold-winner Paradise.
Sponsors and Exhibitors will be showcasing their products and services and there will also be the opportunity to network with other participants during Meet Ups, Masterclasses and Workshops across the 24 hours. Special sessions are being held during the sessions too: Indie Spotlights, Fireside Chats and Podcast Day 24 Women.
