Podcast Movement will stage its 2026 flagship conference in New York City for the first time, adding a new executive summit and aligning with IAB Upfronts week.
Organised by Podcast Movement and Sounds Profitable, the annual event will take place at Terminal 5 from 14 to 18 September 2026.
The move positions the conference in the centre of the US media and advertising market, with a programme designed to separate business decision makers from creator focused sessions while keeping both under one banner.
The week opens on 14 and 15 September with the Sounds Profitable Business Summit, a two day event aimed at senior leaders, brand and agency buyers, and podcast executives.
Programming will include curated keynotes, workshops and structured networking, alongside catered sessions designed to encourage deal making.
Bryan Barletta, President of Podcast Movement and Partner at Sounds Profitable, said: “Bringing Podcast Movement to New York is a signal to the broader media landscape that podcasting is no longer an emerging medium. We’re a multi billion dollar industry that’s not even close to its peak.”
Brand and agency buyers will be given free access to the Business Summit, while Sounds Profitable partners will receive early ticket access and the ability to share two tickets across different executives.
On 16 September, daytime programming will pause to align with IAB Upfronts activity. That evening, an industry party will be held with Locked On Podcast Network and other sponsors.
The main Podcast Movement conference runs on 17 and 18 September, with a stronger focus on creators, networks and publishers. Session submissions will be voted on by the industry, with panels and speakers selected to reflect audience demand.
Bryan said the relocation represents more than a change of venue. “This isn’t a venue change. It’s a statement,” he said.
Early stage sponsors include ADOPTER Media, ART19, ESPN, Magellan AI, Red Seat Ventures, Right Side Up and SoundStack.
Tickets and sponsorships are expected to go on sale soon.
