Podcast show new sessions focus on growth, monetisation and ownership

New sessions just announced for The Podcast Show will examine how creators and companies can build sustainable podcast businesses beyond downloads.

The programme highlights a shift towards ownership, revenue diversification and cross platform storytelling as the industry looks for its next phase of growth.

Greg Glenday, Chief Executive Officer at Acast, will lead a session on how podcasting is evolving, with a focus on more flexible formats and changing audience behaviour.

A separate panel will explore how independent creators and networks can secure brand partnerships, featuring Miranda Romano from Oxford Road and Giancarlo Bizzaro from Crooked Media, looking at how deals are structured and delivered.

Growth remains a central theme, with Chris Baughen, Rhyanna Coleman and Vicky Etchells discussing where the next wave of revenue will come from and how companies are adapting their strategies.

Brand investment in audio will also be addressed by Andy Kelly, who will outline why podcasting continues to attract advertisers globally and how campaigns are being developed for the medium.

Talent and distribution strategies are another focus, with Lizzy Pollott, Jamie Laing and Craig Strachan examining how video and social platforms are becoming core to podcast development and promotion.

Ownership of audiences is a key topic across the event, with Pollyanna Ward leading a session encouraging creators to move away from reliance on third party platforms and build direct relationships with listeners.

Production techniques will also be explored, as Chris Jones, Will Cohen, Lawrence Kendrick and Richard Addis discuss how sound design and immersive audio can enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

The role of long form content in delivering results for brands will be examined through a case study involving No Such Thing as a Fish, with speakers including Mike Newman and Nicola Ager.

Monetisation strategies with Chris Peterson and Jason Sew Hoy will focus on how top creators are building full stack business models that extend beyond traditional advertising.

The Podcast Show 2026 takes place at BDC, Islington, 20 – 21 May. For more details and to book tickets visit thepodcastshowlondon.com.
