Puffin podcast Mission Imagination returns for season two

Mission Imagination, the award-winning Puffin podcast is back for season two from tomorrow, 3 August.

Hosted by stand-up comedian, actor, writer and fan-favourite of Celebrity Gogglebox Babatunde Aléshé, alongside two young Puffineers, there’ll be a new adventure for each week of the summer holidays.

Each episode will take children to a different magical world created by a Puffin author. From weather-brewing workshops to magical underwater worlds and funfairs, young listeners will be taken on an immersive journey to celebrate the Power of Imagination. But, be warned, there are rules for stepping foot in these dreamlands – and when rules are broken, danger follows!

The author line-up and key titles include:

● Tamzin Merchant, author of “The Hatmakers and The Mapmakers”

● Lee Newbury, author of “The Last Firefox”

● Katie Kirby, author of “The Extremely Embarrassing life of Lottie Brooks”

● Sam Copeland and Jenny Pearson, authors of “The Underpants of Chaos”

● Sharna Jackson, author of “The Good Turn” and “High Rise Mystery”

Kicking off the first episode is actor and author Tamzin Merchant, who invites listeners to a world of different maker-families.

Discovering workshops such as those of music-makers or bootmakers, host Babatunde and the two young Puffineers are on a mission to save London from Lord Witloof with the help of Tamzin and her weather-brewing skills. Their adventure with Tamzin takes a turn for the worst when one crucial rule is broken, and chaos breaks out.

Host Babatunde Aléshé says: “I’m so excited to host another brilliant series of the now award-winning Mission Imagination!

“As a father myself, I truly believe in the ‘power of imagination’ and the impact this can have on the well-being of our young listeners, especially in spending time off screens.

“The podcast will spread some much needed joy and positivity for children over the summer holidays whilst showcasing the work and voices of incredibly talented authors.”

Mission Imagination will be available on Apple, Spotify, all major podcast platforms and Puffin books YouTube channel every Wednesday from 3 August.
