Scroobius Pip’s Distraction Pieces Podcast re-signs with Acast

Acast has extended its long-standing relationship with the Acast Creator Network show Distraction Pieces Podcast.

The company will continue to host, distribute and monetise actor, podcaster and former rapper Scroobius Pip’s popular podcast, which is set to reach an incredible 400th episode milestone later this year.

Pip, who has been part of the Acast Creator Network since 2014, is known for his weekly conversations with some of the world’s most famous individuals. Recent guests on the Radio Academy Award-winning broadcaster’s show include Rag‘n’Bone Man, Asim Chaudhry, Florence Pugh, and Jane Horrocks.

As the UK begins to ease lockdown restrictions, Pip has also launched a miniseries called “Where’s Your Head At?”, sitting down with the likes of Fearne Cotton, Jamali Maddix and Gail Porter to talk about how the Covid-19 pandemic has changed people’s entire perception of what is ‘normal’.

Pip has worked with a number of the UK biggest brands on ads, sponsorship and branded content campaigns for the likes of Universal, Microsoft and BMW throughout his time as a podcaster, and has a long-running partnership with Sky. He also co-founded Pob Bible, the UK’s first magazine dedicated solely to podcasts, which is now distributed with the Sunday Times.

Scroobius Pip, host of Distraction Pieces Podcast said: “I’ve been working with Acast since we both started and there hasn’t been a second where that relationship hasn’t been an absolute joy. They make everything easy and natural which is key for me. Helping bring in money without ever making that the main focus or driving force. Content over everything.”

Sam Shetabi, Acast’s Content Director for the UK and Ireland said: “Pip is a stalwart of the UK podcasting scene and a shining example of how to build, nurture and maintain a podcast community. To date, Distraction Pieces has been downloaded nearly 20 million times by podcast listeners all around the world, which is testament to the hours of hard work he’s put in — and the calibre of guests he’s able to attract.

“Naturally, brands are always keen to work with Pip, and his sponsor reads deliver time and again for some of the most well-known companies around.”

Distraction Pieces Podcast is distributed via Acast and is available on every podcast listening platform, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music and Spotify.
