Small Town Dicks features responding officer to Parkland shooting
The eleventh season of true-crime podcast Small Town Dicks has launched with a two-part special episode.
It features Officer George, one of the first responders to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on the day of the Parkland school shooting.
As the trial comes to a close, the powerful and poignant two-part episode includes his first-hand account of what it was like to be one of the first responders to this devastating day in Parkland.
Officer George recounts what 14 February, 2018 was like for him after hearing over the radio that shots had been fired, and rushing to the school to render aid.
He was on patrol with his local PD and met some fellow officers for lunch. Then he heard the radio traffic: shots fired at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He immediately headed to the campus.
He details the heroic and courageous acts by teachers and students throughout this horrific day, and his personal experience coping with the emotional aftermath.
This is Officer George’s story of responding to one of the most horrific school shootings in American history. One that would come to be known simply as “Parkland.”
