Songs In The Key Of Laugh – a podcast around comedy songs

Award winning comedian and actor Phil Nichol has created and is co-hosting a new podcast called ‘Songs In The Key Of Laugh’ with musician David Tims.

Phil, who has just completed a West End run in the Oliver nominated hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, has been writing comedy songs and performing internationally since 1987. David is a musical director, composer and multi-instrumentalist who has worked around the world playing music and leading jazz, funk and soul bands.

The podcast revolves around the theme of comedy songs, why they are great, and how ubiquitous they are without us realising.

Phil and Tim also reminisce about classic comedy songs, discuss the music of the day and interview a musical comedian for a chat about their insights into songwriting.

Guests who have appeared so far are Nick Helm, Jess Robinson, Rob Rouse, Ria Lina and Tim Minchi. Other names lined up include Richard Thomas/Sooz Kempner, Rich Hall, Kirsty Newton and Midnight Beast.

New episodes of Songs In The Key Of Laugh are released at 2pm each Tuesday and available on most podcast platforms.
