Spotify joins Scottish Podcast Awards as global partner

Scotland’s podcast community will now be able to enter the inaugural Scottish Podcast Awards for free, thanks to a new partnership with Spotify.

The Awards, taking place at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on 25 June, had previously announced Go Radio as a partner.

Spotify’s involvement will remove the entry fee for all creators, allowing more voices across Scotland to take part than ever before. The streaming platform will also host the official voting for the Listener’s Choice Award, simplifying audience participation.

Alastair Ferrans, Head of International Podcasts at Spotify, said: “Every decision we make at Spotify is through the lens of adding value to creators. Supporting Scotland’s creator community is a natural extension of that work – and it’s fair to say there’s no shortage of strong voices and great stories to celebrate.”

Corrinne Gardiner, Director and Founder of the Scottish Podcast Awards, added: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Spotify as a major partner of the Awards. This partnership is a significant moment – not just for us, but for Scotland’s entire podcasting community.”

The Awards will showcase Scotland’s growing podcast scene, celebrating creators from across the country.

Podcasts of all genres are encouraged to enter, with submissions now open and free to all. Entry details and guidelines are available from the Scottish Podcast Awards website.
