Staying Relevant takes podcast prize at this year’s TRIC Awards

Staying Relevant, hosted by Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks, was named Podcast winner at this year’s TRIC Awards.

Other nominations in the category beaten by Staying Relevant were Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked, Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, and That Peter Crouch Podcast in the public vote.

The weekly podcast follows Sam and Pete as they discuss their careers, friendships and life in the public eye, with celebrity guests regularly joining them for candid conversations. Since launching, the show has built a large following across audio and video platforms.

In the radio categories, Ken Bruce won Radio Music Show, ahead of breakfast programmes from Capital, Greatest Hits Radio and Heart.

Ken’s weekday Greatest Hits Radio programme secured another TRIC success after also being recognised in 2024. The show has remained a key part of the station’s schedule since his move from BBC Radio 2 in 2023.

Nick Ferrari took the Radio Talk Show award, beating talkSPORT Breakfast, talkSPORT Drive and Woman’s Hour.

Elsewhere, GB News Breakfast won the News category, while A Place in the Sun, Adolescence, Clarkson’s Farm, 24 Hours in Police Custody, Come Dine with Me, The Celebrity Traitors and Emmerdale were among the television winners.

Trevor Nelson MBE received the TRIC Special Award in recognition of his broadcasting career across radio and television.

Clare Balding was named Sports Presenter, while Jeff Hordley won Soap Actor for his portrayal of Cain Dingle in Emmerdale.
