Team England kit manufacturer sponsors Commonwealth Games countdown podcast

Kukri Sports, the official kit provider for Team England, has signed up to sponsor Anything but Footy’s build up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games podcast.

Anything but Footy, the podcast and radio production company run by John Cushing and Michael Weadock, has created ‘Brum’s the word with Kukri Sports’ to bang the drum on behalf of all the athletes, swimmers, divers, cyclists, netballers, judokas, gymnasts, squash players and triathletes out there, who’ll be competing for their country at the biggest sporting event in the UK since the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

Each week in the run up to the Opening Ceremony on Thursday 28 July, John and Michael will speak to an athlete going for gold at the Commonwealths, as well as round up all the other sporting headlines from competitors targeting glory at the Games.

And thanks to sponsors Kukri Sports, whose sporting partners also include British Gymnastics, England Athletics, British Fencing, Lancashire, Yorkshire & Somerset Cricket Clubs, Severn Stars Netball and Ulster RFC, they’ll be giving ‘Brum’s the word’ listeners exclusive offers on Team England merchandise so they can look the part, and party when thousands of athletes and supporters from across the world descend on the West Midlands for 12 days this summer.

As well as producing audio content for businesses and organisations, John and Michael still co-present Anything but Footy – their original Olympic and Paralympic sport podcast, which began in 2019 with the aim of putting a focus on sports and sportspeople who are underrepresented in the media.
