The Art of Manliness Podcast joins media company Backyard Ventures

Austin based Backyard Ventures has partnered with The Art of Manliness Podcast, a self-improvement show aimed at deepening and improving every area of a man’s life.

Hosted by Brett McKay, the founder and editor-in-chief of The Art of Manliness, the podcast holds both personal and weekly interviews with some of the world’s most interesting and successful people.

McKay explores topics like philosophy, health, fatherhood, and more through life-changing insights. With reviews describing him as a “virtual mentor” and a “gifted interviewer,” he has been able to create a large, devoted audience, who listen each week to learn the next lesson on bettering their manhood.

Speaking about the new partnership, McKay said: “We’re thrilled about our new partnership with Backyard Ventures. The team has impressed me with their strategic approach and deep understanding of the podcast marketplace. But what sets them apart from the pack is the white glove treatment they provide the shows on their roster.

“We haven’t felt like “just another show” in a giant anonymous portfolio. Backyard Ventures is excited about what we’re up to at AoM and have worked hard to find advertisers that line up with our audience and brand.

“This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter in the 15-year history of Art of Manliness podcast. Working with Backyard Ventures will allow us to continue producing the quality show our listeners have come to expect while partnering with brands that resonate with our audience.”

Brett McKay started out at the University of Oklahoma, by getting his degree in Letters with a focus on Classics before earning his law degree at the University of Tulsa.

It was during that time while at a local bookstore, inspired by the lack of realism in men’s magazines, he began writing down ideas for his version of “manliness” creating what would eventually become the Art of Manliness.

AoM quickly became one of the biggest magazines in the men’s lifestyle space and achieved over 10 million monthly page views. With so much success, McKay was able to develop his company into the multifaceted brand we see today.

In this new partnership, Backyard Ventures will help the podcast expand its brand and increase its visibility, by opening the doors to new opportunities such as strategic partnerships and enhanced digital campaigns aimed at furthering the show’s mission to empower its audience.

Speaking on the partnership, Backyard Ventures founder, Matt Cisneros, said: “It’s truly an honour to collaborate with a respected and longstanding podcast like Art of Manliness.

“I’ve been an avid follower of their content for years, so partnering with Brett and the incredible team at AOM is incredibly exciting.

“We’re thrilled to work together to build and expand meaningful partnerships for their team, and we’re looking forward to achieving great success in 2025 and beyond.”
