W. Kamau Bell launches weekly video podcast with Pushkin Industries

W. Kamau Bell is bringing his Substack newsletter to podcast platforms with a new weekly show from Pushkin Industries.

Who’s With Me? with W. Kamau Bell will feature conversations about culture, politics and community, mixing humour with thoughtful discussion.

Each episode opens with a monologue from Kamau on current events before he is joined by a guest to talk about their work and ideas for making the world better.

Guests in the first run include Delroy Lindo, Ted Danson, Misty Copeland, Daveed Diggs, Robert Reich, Eddie Huang and Lateefah Simon.

Many guests have links to Kamau’s hometown of Oakland.

Kamau said the title reflects a question that feels especially relevant in uncertain times.

“When everywhere we look it feels like the powers-that-be want to push us apart, I wanted to create a space where curiosity and empathy lead the way, and conversations actually move us forward.”

He said the podcast will also give him the chance to “give flowers” to people he admires, while sharing practical ideas listeners can apply in their own lives.

Pushkin Industries Vice President of Podcasts Corinne Gilliard Fisher said Kamau has a gift for finding the heart of every story and that the company is pleased to support his move into podcasting.

The series is produced by Rabbit Grin Productions, a production company based in Los Angeles.

Who’s With Me? with W. Kamau Bell launches on 27 May and will be available as a video podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
