Cineworld is set to host the world exclusive cinema premiere of The Diary Of A CEO with Louis Tomlinson as a guest.
It says that this marks the first time a podcast has been screened in cinemas.
The one-night-only event takes place on Wednesday 8 October across six UK and Ireland locations, and at six US Regal cinemas.
Tomlinson will be in conversation with host Steven Bartlett, discussing his upbringing, life in One Direction, the loss of his mother and sister, and the pressures of fame.
This cinematic move transforms Europe’s number one host-led podcast from an on-demand mobile-first experience into a communal, appointment-to-view cultural moment. Watching in the cinema allows fans a focused environment to fully immerse themselves in the discussion and share the experience with other listeners.
With 12 million YouTube subscribers and 35 million viewers over the past three months, the podcast continues to grow rapidly, adding more than 500,000 subscribers each month.
Bartlett said: “Cineworld has created an opportunity for fans to watch together, take notes, laugh, network and discuss. This is just the start of our journey to turn our podcast audience into a connected, in-real-life global community.”
Tickets are on sale now from Cineworld.com or the Cineworld app. This screening offers the only chance to see the episode before its global release.
