Mental fitness company Wondermind has partnered with Agoric Media to launch a new video docuseries and podcast, Suspicious Minds.
Hosted by award-winning filmaker Sean King O’Grady, the first season explores the alarming rise of artificial intelligence as a trigger for delusional thinking.
The eight-part series investigates how AI-fuelled culture may be influencing the human mind and features chilling true stories, such as Alan, who was gaslighted by ChatGPT into believing he was a “digital Jesus,” and Anthony, who became convinced he was software that would be destroyed if he revealed the truth.
At the centre of Suspicious Minds are psychiatrist Dr Joel Gold and philosopher Dr Ian Gold, who discovered the “Truman Show Delusion” and co-authored Suspicious Minds: How Culture Shapes Madness.
Through interviews with the Golds and experts in neuroscience, AI ethics, and psychiatry, the series examines how emerging technologies are reshaping paranoia and delusion in the digital age.
Wondermind, co-founded by Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey, brings its mission of destigmatising mental health to this project, combining empathy and science to tell patients’ stories with care and curiosity.
The series also explores how culture, technology, and psychology intersect in shaping the modern mind.
A spokesperson said: “The line between mental wellness and mental illness is incredibly thin, and we never know when something will trigger us, or someone we love.
“The goal of this series is to create awareness of these new and omnipresent digital triggers and explore the psychological minefield we find ourselves unexpectedly living in today.”
Each weekly episode uses storytelling and expert insight to illuminate a psychological phenomenon defining this digital era.
The first season launches today, 17 October across major platforms including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
