George Hamilton and Connor Phillips launch new Irish sport podcast

Irish commentator George Hamilton and BBC presenter Connor Phillips have launched a new podcast exploring the greatest moments in Irish sport.

The twice-weekly series, It’s There!, combines George’s signature commentary with conversations about untold stories, remarkable careers, and the lives of Ireland’s sporting icons.

Each episode features insight from the athletes, coaches, and commentators who shaped the nation’s sporting history.

The first episodes already include high-profile guests such as Ray Houghton, Kevin Doyle, Packie Bonner, Clive Tyldesley, Kevin Kilbane, Mick McCarthy, Liverpool and Ireland legend John Aldridge, and Irish commentator Conor McNamara.

Listeners will hear George and Connor relive historic moments and discuss the next generation of talent.

The podcast launch coincides with both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland aiming to qualify for this summer’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ through March play-offs.

Head of Sport Social, Stefan Doyle, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with George and Connor on It’s There! George has commentated on some of the biggest occasions in Irish sport, and we’re looking forward to reliving those moments through this new podcast.”

George Hamilton said: “Over the years, I’ve been privileged to witness some of Ireland’s greatest sporting moments first-hand. It’s There! gives us the chance to relive those moments in a fresh way, with the people who created them, and to celebrate the stories that shaped Irish sport.”

Connor Phillips added: “I grew up listening to George describe the big moments that shaped our sporting lives. Now getting to sit across from him, and from the icons who made those moments happen, is something really special.”

It’s There! is now available across all major podcast platforms.
