Bank of America has launched a new podcast series focused on emerging technologies shaping global industries.
The Breakthrough Technology Dialogues podcast is designed to give concise insight into developments such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, fusion energy, medtech and robotics, through conversations with people working at the centre of these fields.
Each episode runs for exactly 19 minutes and 56 seconds, a reference to the year the term byte was first used, and features guests drawn from attendees at the bank’s annual Breakthrough Technology Dialogue events held in the UK and Singapore.
Those events bring together senior figures including chief executives, investors, academics and innovators to discuss technological change and its wider impact on business and society, with the podcast extending those conversations to a wider audience.
Bernard Mensah said: “Technology is reshaping every aspect of how we live and work. With Breakthrough Technology Dialogues, our goal is to bring trusted insight to a rapidly changing landscape.”
He added that the series allows the organisation to share expertise from its events more broadly while exploring the ideas behind new developments in greater depth.
The podcast is hosted by James Harding, Editor-in-Chief of The Observer, who said: “What excites me most about this series is the chance to hear directly from the people pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and changing the way we will live.”
Episode one features Hermann Hauser, founder of Arm, discussing advances in quantum error correction and how they could influence future developments in artificial intelligence, synthetic biology and computing.
