Dad’s Bedtime Stories podcast expands with new spin-off

A new spin off podcast from Dad’s Bedtime Stories has launched to extend children’s listening beyond bedtime routines.

Dad’s Anytime Stories repurposes some of the most successful tales from Dad’s Bedtime Stories into episodes designed for listening at any time of day. The new format is intended to support families during quieter moments such as naps, travel, and time at home.

Each episode is written and narrated by Martin Gage, a school teacher who created the original podcast from stories he told his own children. His work has since grown into a widely recognised children’s audio series.

The first season of Dad’s Anytime Stories is set in the Cards of Power universe. The fictional setting features wizards, magic, and a central character called Carter, who goes on adventures with a group of magical companions.

Martin says the new series offers a different way for children to engage with his storytelling. “Dad’s Anytime Stories is my chance to bring the adventures from my novels to life in a fresh new way, giving kids fun, imaginative stories they can enjoy anytime,” he said.

The launch also builds on the wider development of the Cards of Power concept, which Martin has adapted into a novel format alongside the podcast.

Liam Heffernan, CEO of Mercury, highlighted the appeal of the original show while introducing the new version. He said: “Dad’s Bedtime Stories is an institution, and now the children who enjoy those stories can lose themselves in these extraordinary worlds all day long!”

The release schedule for the two podcasts will run alongside each other. Dad’s Anytime Stories will publish new episodes every Monday and Wednesday, while Dad’s Bedtime Stories continues its existing schedule of Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday releases.
