Weirdos Book Club is back with new episodes featuring authors and performers discussing books across genres.
Plosive has launched a fifth series of the podcast, hosted by comedians Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd, with the first episode available from today, 9 April on major podcast platforms.
The show focuses on conversations around unusual and thought-provoking books, to create a space where listeners feel included while exploring a wide range of titles.
The new series will include guests such as Maggie O’Farrell, who will discuss her novel Land, and Kae Tempest, appearing to talk about Having Spent Life Seeking. Booker Prize winner David Szalay is also set to join the hosts during the run.
Previous series have featured a broad mix of contributors, including writers, comedians and performers such as Alan Davies, Naomi Klein, Graham Norton and Marian Keyes, reflecting the programme’s mix of literary and cultural discussion.
Sara Pascoe said: “We’re back for more and greedier for the written word than ever before. Those books better watch out because we are going to discuss the crap out of them!”
Cariad Lloyd added: “I am beyond excited to get back to even more reading with our favourite bunch of weirdos. More books chomped up for your listening ears to enjoy!”
Episodes of the new series are released weekly, with each focusing on a different guest and their chosen work.
