Whisper to produce BBC Sport coverage of The Hundred 2026

Whisper will produce BBC Sport’s live television and digital coverage of eight matches during the 2026 season of The Hundred.

The agreement marks the first time the independent production company has worked with BBC Sport on the cricket tournament.

It covers eight live match blocks featuring the competition’s women’s and men’s double headers, including the Finals at Lord’s on 16 August.

Whisper will combine its live broadcast operation with digital content production as part of a single workflow designed to support coverage across BBC television, online and social platforms.

The company said the approach is intended to help the broadcaster reach younger and wider audiences through platform specific content alongside the live broadcasts.

Production will be handled by Whisper Cymru from the Cymru Broadcast Centre in Cardiff. The facility will provide the tournament’s remote production operation while supporting regional media investment and production talent in Wales.

Rob Williams, Executive Producer at Whisper, said: “We are incredibly proud to be trusted by the BBC to deliver The Hundred for the first time.

“This tournament has entirely reshaped the domestic cricket landscape through its fast paced format and equal billing for the women’s and men’s games.

“Our aim is to lean directly into our ‘Entertainment is Everything’ mantra, bringing high energy storytelling to ensure the broadcast matches the electric atmosphere found in the grounds.”

Whisper’s social and digital division will create content for BBC Sport’s digital platforms, while the company’s in house graphics agency Chapter3 will provide the tournament’s on screen graphics package.

The design will combine illustrations of venues, teams and players in a new visual style created for the BBC’s coverage.

Alexander O’Hagan, Senior Digital Lead at Whisper, said: “By combining our live production engine with dedicated, platform first digital assets, we are offering services that lets fans interact with the tournament whenever and wherever they choose.”
