Following the success of the first podcast series, Graeme Hall, AKA The Dogfather and the ‘UK’s best dog trainer’ (Daily Telegraph), is returning for series 2 of Talking Dogs With Graeme Hall.
This is in addition to a successful third hit series of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly on Channel 5 and a bestselling book, All Dogs Great and Small.
The new series, produced by Avalon, will lead with a number of special episodes where Graeme will be inviting some well-known dog loving guests onto the podcast, offering both them and his regular listeners his no nonsense and practical help and advice with the everyday issues they are all experiencing with their precious pooches.
These include TV vet Julian Norton (The Yorkshire Vet), film and TV star Joanna Scanlan (Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Thick of It, No Offence and narrator of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly), and winning baker Candice Brown (The Great British Bake Off).
In the first episode, Graeme meets Joanna Scanlan and hears about the problems she’s having with her rescue staffie Millie.
Millie likes to chew both hands and chair legs. A listener also has a similar problem with her Czech wolf dog destroying any furniture he can get his teeth around. In the next instalment, Graeme invites his vet mate Julian Norton onto the podcast to answer some of his listeners questions that need a medical answer.
Alongside The Yorkshire Vet, Graeme explores what to do when your older dog gets dementia, great alternatives to the dreaded cone, and how the colours in your vet’s waiting room could affect your dog’s experience.
For his next ‘serving’, Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown might feel in control in the kitchen, but when she’s out and about walking her dogs it’s a very different story. She asks for Graeme’s advice about how to cope with rescue pug Albus’ habit of lunging and barking at everything that moves – from birds, to artic lorries.
Graeme wonders if Albus’ history of potential abuse plays a part, but perhaps Candice mollycoddles him a little too much too. A listener has a similar problem as she walks a dog who isn’t a fan of cyclists and joggers.
A further two specials (guests to be announced) plus 15 regular episodes complete the series.
Graeme said: “I’m so happy to be back for another series talking all things dogs to our nation of dog lovers. Since dog ownership has increased so much in the last year, I’m going to have my hands full fixing problem dogs – and a few problem owners – the length and breadth of the country. Luckily, I like a challenge!”
