Alfie Moore hosts The Neighbourhood Watch Podcast

A new podcast series is offering listeners practical advice on crime prevention, drawing on real-life experiences from both victims and experts.

The Neighbourhood Watch Podcast, produced by Adore Audio, is hosted by former police officer and comedian Alfie Moore.

Each of the six weekly episodes features Alfie in conversation with a guest who shares personal stories about their neighbourhood and encounters with crime, either directly or through someone close to them.

In every episode, an expert joins Alfie and his guest to provide listeners with guidance on what to do if they are affected by crime and how to reduce their risk.

The first episode, released on 24 July, features TV and radio presenter Penny Smith discussing her experiences of having her home burgled twice. John Hayward-Cripps, Chief Executive Officer at the Neighbourhood Watch Network, offers advice on home security.

The second episode, released on 31 July, sees Absolute Radio presenter Andy Bush recount how his parents lost their life savings in an online investment scam. Sandra Bauer, Deputy Chief Executive at Neighbourhood Watch, explains the methods used by scammers.

On 7 August, broadcaster Ruth Dodsworth shares her story as a survivor of coercive control and domestic abuse. Naomi Smith, CEO at Her Centre, provides advice for those affected by coercive control.

The fourth episode, released on 14 August, features investigative journalist Kaf Okpattah discussing the rise of cybercrime among young people. Detective Sergeant Ben Hurley from the Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit describes the sophisticated techniques used by scammers and offers preventative advice.

In the fifth episode, maths teacher and broadcaster Bobby Seagull talks about his experiences with street crime, including mugging and phone snatching. Police Sergeant Vincent Chan joins to discuss prevention and reporting.

The final episode, released on 28 August, focuses on romance fraud. Writer Becky Holmes shares her experiences exposing scams on social media, while Mary Chater, a victim of an online romance scam, speaks about the impact on her life.
