A new book deal has emerged from the independent podcast Vanderpump Robs, highlighting the growing influence of podcasting on publishing.
Rob Schulte and Kate Shapiro, co-hosts of Vanderpump Robs, will publish Reality TV Is the Devil (And Don’t You Forget It): The Unofficial Vanderpump Rules Story with Sourcebooks on 6 April 2027.
The book builds on the reporting and analysis developed through their podcast, which covers Vanderpump Rules, Bravo, and wider reality television culture.
It will explore how Vanderpump Rules has become a lens for broader discussions about fandom, influencer culture, social media, and the evolution of reality TV.
The cover and publication details were recently revealed exclusively by PEOPLE. The book draws on years of research, interviews, podcast episodes, and social media archives to document both the television series and the development of its online community.
Vanderpump Robs began as an independent podcast focused on episode recaps but has since expanded to include interviews and long-form discussions about reality TV, fandom, and digital media.
The podcast’s growth and success ultimately led to Schulte and Shapiro signing the publishing deal with Sourcebooks.
Kate said the book will examine how reality television shapes online communities and influences digital culture.
Rob added that their work aims to provide a comprehensive look at the impact of Vanderpump Rules beyond television.
