A new fictional darkly comedic podcast, Dark Air is the latest show from the Audioboom Originals Network and is written by, and stars, Rainn Wilson.
Wilson, best known for playing Dwight Schrute in the NBC sitcom The Office, is back in the role of Terry Carnation, who first appeared as a character in 2019’s hit podcast Radio Rental.
Carnation is America’s most loved late-night AM radio talk show personality, and in Dark Air takes centre stage.
The scripted show explores the life of Carnation as he speaks to outrageous callers and discusses bizarre topics like UFOs, the paranormal, the occult, the Illuminati, whether or not Kim Jong Un is secretly a robot, and more.
In addition to Wilson, the show features a strong cast of recurring guest stars such as Karan Soni (Deadpool), Al Madrigal (The Daily Show), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community). Guests appearing in the inaugural season include Susan Sarandon, Angela Kinsey, and Mindy Sterling.
“We’re excited to bring Rainn (and Terry) back to the podcasting space with Dark Air. Combining the creative drive of Rainn with Audioboom’s market-leading distribution proves once again that the Audioboom Originals Network is a home for inventive concepts and innovative productions,” says Audioboom EVP, Content & Production, Brendan Regan.
Rainn Wilson as Terry Carnation added: “I’m beyond thrilled to announce a return to the scintillating airwaves of Dark Air, where I am open to discussing everything under the moon, if, that is, you believe the moon exists. No subject is off limits on my legendary paranormal call-in show. None whatsoever. Except elves. Oh, and also my recent descent into madness.”
Dark Air with Terry Carnation was developed by Rainn Wilson and Aaron Lee. It is produced with Kelly & Kelly for the Audioboom Originals Network.
The first episode will premiere tomorrow, 1 April with new episodes released every Thursday.
