Award-winning barrister Tom Cross is launching a new podcast, Cross Examination examining what the law has to say on the cultural, social and ethical issues of the day.
Tom is one of the leading junior barristers in the UK. He has acted both for and against the Government in high-profile cases concerning contemporary social and political issues with cultural, moral and ethical importance. This makes Tom unusually well placed to comment, impartially and expertly, on the law’s response to such issues – and whether it’s doing its job.
Tom’s mission statement with his brand-new podcast is simple: the law applies to us all; lawyers have a duty to explain it.
In each episode, Tom examines a social, cultural or ethical issue. Accompanied by some of the country’s most expert lawyers, he’ll look at what the law has to say on the matter and interrogate whether this needs to change.
Season One digs into debates and discussions around topics including AI and discrimination, free speech at universities, sex & relationships education, and medical cannabis.
Tom and his guests will tackle these big legal dilemmas in an informative yet accessible manner, appealing to law people, lay people and everyone in between.
Cross Examination will be available on all major podcast platforms from 9 October.
